Can Facebook cause divorce?

Looks like more fun I'm missing out on. Why the hell Russell Crowe is remotely referenced in this article is a stretch. Master and Commander is a great movie though.

Just trying to reconnect with you on Facebook!

I love Facebook for notes like these.  I'd like to reconnect with you despite the fact I treated you like shit in high school.  Makes you think twice about friending someone.  Only thing worse than receiving one of these is later seeing it all over the internet.  Like here.

You've been Friended by the long arm of the law ...

In what may be a world first, an Australian couple was served with legal docs via Facebook.  Lawyers from Canberra law firm Meyer Vandenberg persuaded a judge in the Australian Capital Territory's Supreme Court to allow them to serve the documents over the internet after repeatedly failing to serve the papers in person.

Between stuff like this, not paying child support or alimony - you might want to think twice about Friending Mom.

Social network Pownce got PWND.

Evidently this new economy of ours is now requiring companies to make money.  How uncool.

I find that any web news in mainstream media is noteworthy (versus Fred Shmedlap's blog or similar) in that it usually gives a rather watered-down and somewhat neophyte read to what's really going on - an informed POV for the uninformed.  This article actually provides some insights - particularly Microsoft's play in social media - that even your supervisor can understand .  Whatever.

Facebook, a boy, Michael Vick, and a cast of 100 Fake Friends.

Here's an interesting story about a guy who started a Facebook page with a fictitious identity and made 100 "friends" in four days.  And he used  a pic of Michael Vick as his profile picture.  It's fascinating how people may trade their privacy to accumulate more "Friends" than their ... well, friends have.

This video showcases a Hackathon project that visualizes all the data Facebook receives.

Some guys at Facebook need to spend more time outdoors.  It's pretty cool no less - especially similarities drawn between Facebook (and implied internet usage) and the image of the Earth at night.
