We (Illinois) should be put on probation by the other 49.
If Oprah becomes a US Senator her show will be cancelled. I'm in. This story is at times The Sting, at times Alice in Wonderland. I'm surprised we haven't been impeached as a state - what with our lack of ability to govern ourselves. Can a state have two ex-gov's in prison without setting some sort of Guinness world record? Doubt it.

PELOSI SAYS BIRTH CONTROL WILL HELP ECONOMY!
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi boldly defended a move to add birth control funding to the new economic "stimulus" package, claiming "contraception will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government."
It would appear that we'll be spending more $$$ on condoms and cheap wine and less $$$ on dining out, movies and other standard dating fare.
Won't this make the economy even worse?

The difference between the President-Elect and the VP-Elect
President-Elect Barack Obama resigned his senate seat this past weekend (his new job assured barring a last-minute overthrow of the Constitution by Dick Cheney).
VP-Elect Joe Biden has announced he'll resign once he's sworn in - his job presumably not as yet guaranteed. Does he receive an offer letter?
